Foundation Awards $3 Million to Domestic Violence Shelters
The Mary Kay Foundation awarded grants totaling $3 million to domestic violence shelters across the U.S. in October 2008 in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The commitment and phenomenal generosity of our donors has helped the Foundation award 150 grants of $20,000 each to shelters located in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, at a critical economic time. Since the Foundation’s inception, it has awarded nearly $18 million to shelters and programs addressing domestic violence.
Because of the consistent love-filled donations we receive, the Foundation can continue to change and even save lives while honoring Mary Kay’s legacy. Applications for 2009 shelter grants are available Jan. 2 – June 30, 2009.
